The Practitioner & the Person

My Mission

The name Beyond Better was born from a phrase my father used to tell me.

“always go beyond the call of duty”

Do more than what is asked of you and do more for others in need. When I established that I wanted to become a sport psychologist, I also embarked on my own journey of constant development. I knew that this meant commitment. Not just to being a better version of myself and to help others, but to venture beyond limits I hadn’t even thought of.

My mission is simple: to help you to become better than yesterday 🫡

My Values

To Serve

To utilise time, energy and other resources to serve the needs of others to hopefully leave them better than yesterday

To Optimise

Continuously striving to enhance performance, health, and mindset through evidence-based practices and individualised strategies.

Transparency

Communicating with honesty and clarity to build trust, ensure informed decisions, and foster open, respectful relationships.

Collaboration

Working alongside clients, teams, and other professionals to co-create effective, tailored solutions that promote sustainable change.

The Practitioner

As a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), I specialise in working with teams and individuals to optimise development, performance and well-being.

Maximising your performance starts with discovering ways to enhance your mental resilience and emotional balance. Whether your goal is reaching the next level in your sport or building lasting habits for a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle, we collaborate to create a personalised plan that empowers you to achieve sustainable success.

My Approach

Your well-being and your goals are my first priority. To help you achieve the success you want, my aims as a practitioner are to: build your self-awareness, develop your confidence to perform at a high level independently and to help you to move toward the ideal version of yourself.

I use collaborative methods that combine your expertise on yourself and your sport and my knowledge of performance and psychology to get the most out of the support process.

Self-awareness

Self-awareness is the cornerstone of personal growth and development. The deeper our understanding of ourselves, the more effectively we can make informed decisions that propel us toward our goals. This encompasses a comprehensive awareness of our strengths, habitual patterns, and areas for improvement.

Independence

A key aspect of my role is to help you sustain your development and perform at a high level even after our work together has concluded. This involves ensuring that you can independently apply the knowledge and tools you’ve gained from our sessions, enabling long term growth and excellence.

The Ideal ‘you’

I believe that each of us is continuously evolving toward a more refined version of ourselves. This process of growth is a central tenet of my approach. Everything we explore together is designed to facilitate meaningful progress, helping you move closer to becoming the best version of yourself.

The Person

My Background

My dedication to excellence in sport and exercise began in my teenage years when I first focused on my own health and fitness. As I started lifting weights in the gym, I developed a passion for the process of dedicating time and effort to improving myself each day. Through this journey, I learned the importance of mastering the mind to enhance physical performance and came to appreciate the holistic nature of personal development.

In the Community

This dedication has opened doors to various personal and professional endeavours. Like this full circle moment, sponsoring a local football team, Tamworth U16, and having my name on their shirt.

Written Contributions

Regularly contributing to the PE Review has been a welcomed therapeutic activity. The PE Review is a magazine for A level students, designed to provide subject expertise on all things health and exercise.

Against The Odds is a UK‑based Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to educating young people on the dangers of the gambling industry and the elevated risk of addiction
